Cookie & Storage Notice

CartTycoon · operated by MDM Koncept, Sweden (EU) · Last updated July 10, 2026

CartTycoon is a virtual shopping game. No real products are shipped. No real money is charged during virtual checkout. Cart Cash, Haul Value, rewards, products, deliveries, waitlists and the Plus Pass are virtual game mechanics only.

This page explains the specific browser storage technologies CartTycoon uses — cookies, localStorage, and how sign-in sessions are kept — rather than lumping everything together as “cookies”.

1. Cookies

CartTycoon's own code does not set cookies. Any cookie you might see could only come from a third-party service we use (see Section 4, Analytics) — based on our review of the implementation and those providers' own documentation, we believe this is minimal or absent, but we haven't independently verified every request at the network level, so this is called out as worth reviewing rather than stated as certain.

2. localStorage — necessary game storage

CartTycoon uses localStorage — a standard browser feature — to save your game on your own device. It is strictly necessary for the game to work between visits. It stores:

  • Cart Cash balance and transactions
  • haul/inventory
  • cart and wishlist
  • orders and CartRunner tracking state
  • streaks and daily missions
  • waitlists and savings goals
  • onboarding state
  • Plus Pass state
  • Lucky Wheel state and Shopping Rush results
  • recently viewed products

This data stays on your device only, unless you sign in (Section 3), in which case a copy is also saved to your account.

3. Sign-in session storage (Supabase)

If you sign in, CartTycoon uses Supabase for authentication. Based on the current implementation, your sign-in session is kept in localStorage, not in a cookie set by CartTycoon. Signing out clears this session from your browser. CartTycoon does not currently use sessionStorage for anything.

What clearing your browser data does: if you're signed in, clearing local site data will sign you out on that browser/device (your cloud save itself is safe on our servers — sign in again to get it back). If you're playing as a guest, clearing local site data resets your guest progress, since it was never saved anywhere else.

4. Analytics and performance monitoring

CartTycoon loads Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand overall usage and page performance. Based on Vercel's documentation for these products, they are designed to avoid cookies and to report aggregated data rather than tracking you individually across sites. Whether this still counts as requiring prior consent under current Swedish/EU guidance is a question we're confirming rather than treating as settled — contact us if you have questions.

CartTycoon does not use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or any advertising/marketing tracking script. Google Search Console (which we use to monitor search performance) does not add anything to the pages you browse.

5. Your controls

You can, at any time:

  • clear CartTycoon's stored data via your browser settings → privacy / site settings → clear site data for carttycoon.com (in most browsers this is also available from the padlock/tune icon next to the address bar),
  • sign out from the Profile page if you're signed in,
  • block or limit browser storage using your browser's own privacy features.

Consequences: clearing local data resets guest progress that was never linked to an account. Clearing local data while signed in will sign you out (cloud-saved progress is unaffected and can be restored by signing in again). Blocking necessary browser storage may prevent sign-in, cloud save, or parts of the game from working correctly — CartTycoon's core gameplay genuinely depends on localStorage being available.
